Nestled between busy Barra beach and around the corner from relaxed Tofo Beach, you’ll find peaceful and serene Mango Beach.  Forget about finding us on your road map, but for those techno junkies out there GPS does work here.  This is the setting for Mango Beach – an utterly tranquil resort in popular Tofo, Mozambique – one of the world’s best dive destinations. You are guaranteed the holiday of a lifetime – whether you want adventure and action, or a relaxed sun-drenched chill.

Mango Beach Lodge is positioned in the heart of the most beautiful coast lines Mozambique has to offer. Located 23 Kilometres from one of the oldest cities in Mozambique, Inhambane, lies the small town of Tofo. About 3 Kilometres from Tofo town, along the road parallel to the beach where a sign is posted for the entrance to Tofo, you will find our Lodge: Mango Beach.

Our dune top bar and restaurant overlooks the Indian Ocean, with impressive views of our private beach. All our accommodation is nestled behind our dune, affording you all the privacy necessary, and protection from the elements.

Mango Beach ECO lodge strives to be an environmentally friendly and responsible lodge, sustaining and conserving our natural environment as well as assisting to improve the welfare of our local people.

As an Eco lodge we are slightly remote from Tofo Town, located in relatively pristine natural environments nestled between the local flora and dunes alongside the ocean. As an Eco lodge our emphasis is on environmental responsibility and minimizing negative impact on our surroundings. As part of this responsibility we use solar renewable energy as our primary source of power, with a backup generator for those cloudy days and evening power for a very limited duration. So lights go out early! Time to take in the evening sky and listen to nature speak to you. All our lighting is energy efficient LED based, and recycling is at the heart of what Mango Beach is.

Number of rooms:

• 9 Cabanas (2 x Cabana – 4 sleeper with En-suite bathroom and 7 x Cabana – 4 Sleeper using shared bathroom)
• 3 x 3 bedroom houses with bathroom, lounge and dining room, as well as kitchen
• 1 x Manager house – needs a complete rebuild
• 1 x ablution block (ladies and Gents, each has two toilets and two showers, plus two wash basins)
• 1 x Coffee Station

Restaurant & Bar

The lodge features a 40 seater fully fitted beach front restaurant and bar on top of the Dune. Fully kited Stainless steel kitchen, with 2 section deep-fryer, 10 station griddle, 2 station wok cooker, 3 plate boiler, (All gas driven), 10L dough mixer and various other kitchen units. BOSCH fridge freezer.

Camping capacity

Camping estimated capacity around 20 stands with a max of 6 people on each. Total camping capacity 120 pax. (currently no ablution facilities or electricity for camping)

Solar system

• 5KVA Goodwe IP65 Hybrid inverter, max output 5KVA, two banks of 4 x 12 Volt Lead acid self-maintenance 210Amp batteries(8 total) total storage capacity 420Amp hours.
• 9 x Solar world 245 Watt solar panels
• 3 x Soar world 300 Watt solar panels

Generator

• 1 x HATZ Motor with Cummings 20KVA alternator 3 phase.
• 1 x Kuma 6.5 KVA single phase

Staff houses

Two Casista’s used for staff change rooms as well as ablution block for ladies and gents. Each has 1 toilet, wash basin and shower.
